DAY SUPPORT PROGRAMS

DAYTIME PROGRAM OPTIONS

The Arc ECT offers Day Support Programs for people with IDD, ages 16 and up. Our services focus on personal choice, while recognizing the specialized and often complex needs of the people we serve. In addition to our regular day support services, we offer two specialized services: our Community Integration Program and Community Plus Program.

We keep a highly qualified nursing staff on-site—at each location, at all times—as well as a caring and creative team of recreation, art, and social activities assistants.

DAY SUPPORT PROGRAM

We operate our Day Support Program from two locations: in Danielson and Norwich. Each location offers a unique lineup of fun activities and learning opportunities. Our programs are about the participants—what they want to do and when they want to do it. Our dedicated team helps them accomplish their goals.

Danielson: Our classroom-style programming offers both recreational and social skills instruction, with a wide range of classes such as Lego®, cooking, crafts, sports, nature, music, fine motor exercises, sign language, and more!

Norwich: Activities in the Day Support Program at our main offices in Norwich include cooking skills, health and fitness, relationship building, community navigation and volunteerism—all with the goal of helping people reach their highest potential.

COMMUNITY INTEGRATION PROGRAM
Located in Norwich, this program supports older people with IDD—with a focus on seniors—who may prefer a slower-paced day, with more in-house activities and daily living supports. Each person’s day is uniquely structured, so they can participate in activities that are most important to them.

Community events are also available — we visit local aquariums, parks, libraries, museums, local fire departments, farms, and zoos, and we take part in activities such as bowling, apple picking, and more.

COMMUNITY PLUS PROGRAM

Our Community Plus Program is located in Groton, where we offer educational, social, self-advocacy, life skills, community, and volunteer activities for men and women with IDD, ages 16 and up.

Here, people can make friends, develop living skills, and enjoy a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie with the community.
